Moswarike Dynasty¶
The Moswarike Dynasty, also known as the Guluo Dynasty or the Horse Clan Dynasty, was a unified dynasty in Truskean history established by the northern index.
This dynasty was founded by Tuluhaike, the tenth Great Chieftain of the Guluo people. It marked the first time the northern nomadic civilization comprehensively conquered and ruled over the southern agrarian and maritime civilizations. The Moswarike Dynasty was renowned for its powerful "Spirit Language" magic legions, unique slave-soldier system, and harsh intelligence-based rule. Although its methods of governance were relatively crude, it objectively greatly promoted the integration of bloodlines and cultures between the northern and southern peoples of the Trusk Empire.
Historical Development¶
Rise and Unification¶
The dynasty's founder, Tuluhaike, was a powerful ruler in Guluo history. He ended the long-standing tribal conflicts on the Guluo steppe, unified the various tribes, and was elected as the tenth Great Chieftain (Sajiepiaomake). To accumulate strength, Tuluhaike adopted an extremely pragmatic and low-profile diplomatic strategy in the early years of his rule. On the surface, he submitted and paid tribute to the then imperial hegemon, lulling their vigilance, while secretly training troops and reforming the military system in the north.
Southern Conquest¶
When the time was ripe, Tuluhaike led the reformed Guluo army southward. In the decisive battle against the southern Basib Dynasty, the Guluo army demonstrated overwhelming superiority. In addition to elite cavalry, Tuluhaike deployed Spirit Speakers (mages) on a large scale. Taking advantage of the period when the "Snapshot" was far from the origin and the magical tides were high, the storms and lightning summoned by the Guluo people shattered the southern allied forces' defenses. Subsequently, the Moswarike army captured Hasit City, entered the Heimet region, and continued pushing south, conquering most territories including those south of index, establishing a vast empire.
Decline and End¶
The later period of Moswarike Dynasty rule faced a dual crisis:
- "Magic" Decline: As the world's planes shifted (the Snapshot returned), the ambient spiritual tides began to recede. The effectiveness of the Spirit Language techniques, upon which the dynasty relied to maintain its rule, significantly weakened, and its military advantage was lost.
- Internal Corruption and Truskeanization: The Guluo nobles who entered the south rapidly became corrupt and split from the conservatives who remained in the north. Ultimately, under the counterattacks of rebel forces and old noble factions across the land, this dynasty built on military force and magic came to an end.
Political and Military Systems¶
Coexistence of Enfeoffment and Centralization¶
Tuluhaike implemented a reformed enfeoffment system, distributing conquered lands to meritorious generals and submissive southern nobles, but maintained high-pressure control in core regions.
Slave-Soldier System¶
To counter the power of traditional clan elders, Tuluhaike abolished the monopoly of tribal militias. He vigorously protected the basic rights of slaves and selected strong individuals from among them to establish a standing army independent of the Council of Elders. This slave legion was loyal only to the emperor himself, possessed extremely high combat effectiveness and discipline, and was the foundation of the dynasty.
Intelligence Rule: Molofa¶
The dynasty established an intelligence and surveillance agency named "Molofa" (meaning "arrow"). This organization reported directly to the emperor, monitoring the vast bureaucracy and local lords, thereby strengthening the central government's reign of terror over the expansive territory.
Society and Culture¶
- Crude Governance: As conquerors, the Moswarike Dynasty's administration was relatively rough. Many of the south's sophisticated agricultural and commercial networks were initially damaged but gradually recovered in later periods.
- Ethnic Fusion: To consolidate rule, the dynasty encouraged and even enforced intermarriage between Guluo and Truskean people. During this period, a large number of Guluo vocabulary was integrated into the Truskean language, and the lifestyles and customs of the north and south underwent an irreversible, deep fusion.
- Spirit Language Technology: This was the golden age of Spirit Language research. The imperial family funded extensive research on magic, astrology, and herbs. Many classic works on the Spirit Language were compiled during this period.
